CITY OF MALOLOS, Bulacan – Law enforcers seized some PHP1.65 million worth of shabu in a buy-bust that resulted in the killing of two notorious drug suspects in Barangay Diliman in San Rafael town on Friday night.

Bulacan police director Col. Lawrence Cajipe on Saturday said the drug suspects Andres Marcolita from Barangay Tabe in Guiguinto town and Gil Manaog from Padre Garcia, Batangas were killed in a shootout with authorities during the operation at 9:45 p.m.

Cajipe said based on the report, the suspects sold a medium heat-sealed transparent plastic of suspected shabu to undercover police.

“However, they sensed that they are transacting with the police. They drew their gun and fired towards the operatives but missed which prompted our police personnel to retaliate. A gunfight ensued wherein both suspects sustained wounds on different parts of their bodies,” he said.

A rescue team from San Rafael town rushed the suspects to Baliwag District Hospital but they were pronounced dead on arrival by the attending physician.

Recovered from the crime scene were two caliber .45 pistols, ammunition, and nine heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets of suspected shabu weighing around 220 grams, drug paraphernalia, and buy-bust money.

"Further investigation disclosed that the two slain suspects were notorious in selling illegal drugs in different towns in Bulacan," Cajipe said.

The recovered pieces of evidence were brought to Bulacan Provincial Crime Laboratory Office for examination. (PNA)
